EI Residential (US) Installation Checklist

For solar installers, efficiency and accuracy are paramount. Tigo Energy’s EI Residential Solution is designed to simplify complex installations. However, we noticed a few areas where we could clarify steps in the installation process for installers that are newer to our solution. The EI Residential Solar Solution checklist is for US installers for EI Inverters, EI Batteries, and 200A Automatic Transfer Switches. It's designed to ensures every project is reliable and set up for long-term success.

Top Highlights from the Checklist

  1. 200 Amp ATS Setup
    • Bypass Jumper: Essential for commissioning. Ensure the jumper is in place on first startup and follow manual bypass instructions to avoid setbacks.
    • Communication Wiring: Properly connect the inverter and ATS with the designated wires (yellow and blue) for seamless operation.
  2. Battery Cabinet Essentials
    • Terminating Plugs: Insert them on the top battery module and the cabinet side. These small details are crucial for system communication.
    • Power Sequence: Always activate Battery DC before PV DC to prevent startup issues. If commissioning isn’t complete, disconnect communication cables and power down the cabinet.
  3. General Reminders
    • Backup Tests: Only run after confirming full system communication and updates. Jumping the gun can disrupt setup.
    • Internet Connection: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or a hotspot is mandatory for initial commissioning to enable firmware updates and ensure proper system communication.

Adhering to the checklist prevents performance issues and ensures smooth system operation, reducing the risk of costly callbacks. It also guarantees that homeowners get the full benefits of their solar investment, including reliable energy backup.
